Hello,

I just registered to this site so hopefully I am posting to the right area. I am hoping someone can help me because this issue has been annoying me for the past couple months. I have Windows 7 32 Bit installed on a PC I built myself a while ago. For the last couple months I randomly hear a sound byte come from my speakers and it is the same sound so it doesnt change. It is a guitar rift from the rolling stones song "Start me Up" and it plays randomly.. sometimes I dont hear it for a half hour and then there are times it plays 3 times in 20 min. I don't know what to do.. is this malware, virus, I don't know. I have Spybot search and destroy and update it religiously and do scans every 2 days.. the immunization is on.. I also have the latest AVG installed as well as Malware Bytes and SuperAntiSpyware.. I have tried all these programs and they remove a few tracking cookies but nothing seems like a major infection. AVG always comes back clean and these programs are all up to date. Please someone help me figure out what this is.. or if this is some program I have that I can shut this feature off. It is extremely annoying to be watching a movie or listening to songs while gaming and hear that stupid rolling stones guitar rift randomly. I use Mozilla Firefox as my browser and don't see any plugins that could be causing it. Please let me know if you need any more information or if I should run that combofix program.

Thank you all for your help!!

Best Regards,

I mainly have AIM open all the time but I don't have any IM sounds that make that certain noise.. I also have Yahoo,MSN messengers and Skype but I almost never have them running.

Disable all sounds in AIM, and then disable all windows via control panel and sounds as a means to troubleshooting.

My work schedule is as follows: Mon and Tues 1800 to 0600, Friday - Sunday 1800EST to 0600, and Wednesday to Thursday 1800est to 0600. So if I do not respond right away I am at work.

it still could be, but disabling the sounds will see if it stops.

My work schedule is as follows: Mon and Tues 1800 to 0600, Friday - Sunday 1800EST to 0600, and Wednesday to Thursday 1800est to 0600. So if I do not respond right away I am at work.
