From Everest home edition

AMD Sempron, 1800 MHz (9 x 200) 3000+

Right now the motherboard it is connected too is a VIA K8m800/k8n800, AMD Hammer

I am wanting to find out if I can hook the processor to:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/...?Item=N82E16813131523

Thank you for help.

if the socket type is the same it should work, however, the 3000+ was released in socket A on up through am2. the frequency changed, but at 1.8 ghz it was released in both socket 754 and socket 939. So If the CPU is socket 939 it should, in theory work in that motherboard, if it is socket 754 it will not. It should say in the die what socket it was designed for, but if not look at the pins. Socket 754 has a square of pins, with a blank spot in the middle, 939 the entire bottom of the CPU is covered in pins. Am2 is the same way, but the am2 version of the 3000+ is 1.6 ghz so Im pretty sure that you dont have that, and the socket A has a blank spot to, but again, its a different frequency. It would help if you had the exact part number of the CPU.
