Yesterday, I experienced antimalware doctor keep popping up on my laptop. I knew that it was a virus because I never downloaded the software. I tried to remove it from the control panel window but it wouldn't work. After many google searches, I tried using those options. Now, the only thing on my desktop is the recycle bin. Everything elses is gone. All the programs on the start menu are also gone. I only have internet explorer. I still have the antimalware doctor that continues to pop up. I have tried going into safe mode but only get a blank screen labeled safe mode. I am very frustrated and dont know where else to turn. I dont understand what is happening. I knew that the antimalware doctor was a scam so I never allowed it to run. Please help

Hello, jen85.
My name is etavares and I will be helping you with this log.
Here are some guidelines to ensure we are able to get your machine back under your control.
The good news is that we have options. Let's start with the 'easier' option first. Can you try to load safe mode with Command Prompt? We can run things from there if we have to...it often prevents malware from running.

Here are some guidelines to ensure we are able to get your machine back under your control.
- Please do not run any unsupervised scans, fixes, etc. We can work against each other and end up in a worse place.
- Please subscribe to this topic if you have not already done so. Please check back just in case, as the email system can fail at times.
- Just because your machine is running better does not mean it is completely cleaned. Please wait for the 'all clear' from me to say when we are done.
- Please reply within 3 days to be fair to other people asking for help.
- When in doubt, please stop and ask first. There's no harm in asking questions!
