Hi my computer wont boot up i had a new motherboard fit in. Got it back today worked fine. Then came back and the computer wont power on.

No lights turn on.

Tried 2 power supplys.
Checked fuses.

Does it sound like the power supply is turning on when you try to turn on the computer (some fan noise, movement, anything).

My first thought would've been a dead PSY, but you said you tried multiple power supplies. Is it possible the power button was off on these power supplies when you tried them?

Double check the power button for your computer to make sure that the wire is plugged in, that the contact is hitting correctly when it's pushed, etc. Might want to try pushing the button from inside the case to make sure that it's not just a matter of the plastic from your case not hitting the button correctly. Just be careful that you ground yourself first and try not to touch any other parts so you do not short anything out.

This won't explain why the system worked fine when you got it home, then wouldn't work unless you happened to somehow turn it off.

But it is something I have to ask regarding the 2 power supplies:

Is there an on/off switch on the back of the case, either just above or below the power supply? If there is, was it turned ON?

Ok, sounds like your PSU is not getting power at all then. Let's start with the basics; is the outlet working? Plug something else into the outlet to confirm this isn't the problem before you drive yourself nuts looking for the problem with your computer.

Right, I get that. I'm saying to unplug your computer all together and plug something else (a light, a fan, anything) in to the outlet to confirm that the outlet is getting power.

What type of computer do you have (make and model?)

It really sounds to me like there is either a cable unplugged, or a switch off.

Did you move the computer or change anything between the time that it worked and didnt work?

Can you take a picture of the cable in question and your motherboard so we can see if maybe that is the case?

Its the blue/white cable with white socket that may be the problem?

The black/yellow cable with black socket in bottom left is the fan but the new motherboard doesn't support it.

The ones with bigger black sockets i dont know about.

And the blue orange white red one with black socket is the USB's at front of the pc?

Does this mean you are running the computer with no fan at all? This is not recommended as you could overheat and fry the MOBO.

The blue/white cable looks promising. Could you show us the other end of the cable (where it connects too) and also take a picture of your motherboard to see what sockets you have?

Again, what computer do you have?
