After running MalWareBytes and Avast to get rid of several viruses cannot view YouTube videos. YouTube says must have latest version of Adobe FlashPlayer but have installed and uninstalled several times following all directions on Adobe site - used their uninstaller and reinstalled. Installer says it installed correctly but when I go to the Adobe FlashPlayer site that tells you what version you have it does not reflect any version. When go to Youtube get same message - "you must have latest version of Flashplayer installed" Any ideas?

IE needs an active x component for flash.
Firefox needs a plugin for flash.

Using Internet Explorer 8 and active X is enabled - is that what you mean? Both your links are regarding Firefox and I couldn't find one that checked plugins for IE. Thanks for your response :)

thanks Boopme I had tried the suggestions in that link. They called yesterday to tell me that the kids reinstalled Google Chrome and used it and YouTube works fine. Don't have access to the computer now to know if Flashplayer is working or if Google Chrome has the equivalent and that's why Youtube is working. Thanks for the help all.
