BleepingComputer.com: HP m8530f _ freezes/BSOD

HELP!!

I have a 3 year old(summer 2008) HP m8530f I got from BestBuy that constantly freezes and blue screens within minutes of startup. I'm afraid the more I try to turn it on the more risk I run of making it worse.

Here's what I'd like to do.
1 - Install new hard drive (primary), make current drive slave and be able to continue to use some programs. However I read somewhere there are risks here in that it may damage the new drive. Is this true?

2 - Do above, but transfer/copy programs over.. i.e. Photoshop, MS 2007. etc. Is this easy to do and what are some current products on the market I can use to copy/transfer programs?

3 - Reformat existing drive. If I do this I'm afraid it won't matter.. since the drive is already damaged. I'm I right to think this?

4 - Just buy new drive.. and reinstall the programs.

Can someone with this expertise or experience shed some light on my problem and make some great suggestions?

NOTE - I can understand technical terms but not expert!

After it scans your computer, navigate to Hardware>Sensors and post all info from there.

No installation required.
Unzip downloaded file and double click on BlueScreenView.exe file to run the program.
When scanning is done, go Edit>Select All.
Go File>Save Selected Items, and save the report as BSOD.txt.
Open BSOD.txt in Notepad, copy all content, and paste it into your next reply.

I can't even turn it on! Every time I turn it on at the sign on.. it just freezes! I'm afraid if I keep starting up.. it will just damage the drive more.

Did you try to start in Safe Mode?

What is the BSOD message?
