i dont know. and only sometimes the ie8 pop up comes up. i dont care which ie i use. whichever is better

OK, well IE 8 is more secure than 7.. but before we update .. do that search.. I wamt to be sure your not infected.

Go to start>>Seach >>type Trend Mocro and see what comes back.

Hmm seems there may have beem a trial used. Look in Control Pamel for any TM apps and remove if found

i looked in the add/remove programs and didnt see anything. this computer was reset to its factory settings about a month ago and was wiped clean. but when all that was done, it immediately started with the trend micro. so maybe it came with the computer when i first got it

Yes,it was loaded at the MFR in hopes to nag you into buying.

Press Windows Key + R on your keyboard (or alternatively, go to Start > Run).
Type in msconfig and press Enter on the keyboard.
Click on the Startup tab and search for any related entries. Be careful not to disable anything else!
Untick any boxes related to Trend Micro and press OK.
Press Exit without restart.

I have to leave now,will look back.

Ok, you will have to wait a couple days but they will reply and find this. We need a deeper look to see where this is is some stronger tools. If we post a DDS log a log analyst can find it. Start a new topic with the info from your first post.
