Hi, I'm CHB69. You can call me Charlie.
I've worked with computers since I joined IBM in 1955. I continued with IBM until I retired in 1991. Most of this work was on what are now known as "mainframes": IBM 702, 704, 7080, etc. During my last few years with IBM I worked on PCs.
After retiring, another exIBMer and I started our own consulting business, which eventually was incorporated as IMI inc. We had major customers, such as Boeing, NASA, etc. After about five years we liquidated the company.
From some time in the mid eighties, I "moonlighted" as an adjunct instructor at Santa Ana College in Santa Ana, California, teaching Computer Science. I gave that up in 2010, and now I am really retired.
I'm pretty old and I find it hard to keep up with innovations in the computer and electronic fields.
