I'm running speedfan on my Satellite L455D-S5976 and it shows all 3 fans at 0 RPM and CPU at 75 Degrees celcius.

I know all three fans are working but I know that temp is really high.

Any ideas?

I believe laptop's does not have fan sensor which can detect how fast the fan is spinning. That temperature is way to hot, you should try using a can of compressed air to blow the dust in the vents.

Did that.

Update

30 minutes later the fan slowed and the temp was 70C again after a few hours hovering at around 80C, then it prompty went back to 75C.

I've also made this post over at Toshiba on a different aspect of this same problem:

Also you might want to upgrade your ram, on the screenshot it shows the is using 1.6GB out of 1.7GB  The best way to clean it, is taking the laptop apart which i often do to clean out the cpu cooler which really helps.

That's only if you know what you're doing though. Highly do not recommend disassembling your laptop apart without any proper knowledge.

When you turn on your laptop without starting any programs up, does it rise quickly to 70C?

Thanks to everyone who has helped me in this post.

I found that my CPU is intended to run at this temp, and can apparently handle up to 100C.

If it is 70C and the CPU continuous 100% load then it should be ok but if it not 100% then it would be a concern.
