OK, I ran the cmd, ipconfig release and renew. Ran the link for the malware just to find out if I wanted the trojans removed (that it showed) I have to pay for it. I'm to frustrated and not capable of following some of the directions. I can't find the radio on/off settings or the router settings. GRRRRRRRRRRRRR If I use my restore disk and bring my laptop back to "factory" will that work and remove any problems? I've been fighting with thisw thing for over 2 months, and I am back to wanting to throw the darn thing out the window. Thanks

Did you download the FREE version of Malwarebytes @ the link? The free version will NEVER ask you to pay for removal.

Download from FileHippo: http://www.filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/

Even the paid version should not ask you for payment before removing the issues.
Only malware rogues do that and they are all fake.
Are you quite certain that you downloaded and installed MalwareBytes from the link that I provided?

Yes restoring the system back to factory should solve your issue.
Just make sure that you back up any personal data that you have if you opt to go that route as you will lose it.

I am becoming pretty much convinced that the system is infected and a factory restore should take care of that too.
Remember that you will have to reinstall everything that you have added to the system since you got it.

Its pretty much your decision on which way you want to go.
In the beginning there was the command line.

The link that was here last time brought me to PC Tools and that showed some trojans, but if I wanted them removed I had to pay. I'll try this link and see if that will remove them and get me on line. If not, I'm going to restore. Thanks again.

<<The link that was here last time brought me to PC Tools...>>

That is an inaccurate report of what happened. The link provided takes you to a link, with choices of downloading the free version or the paid version. Clicking on the link for the free version takes you to a page with the download as the main page...and an advertisement for PC Tools on the right side (clearly not the focus of the webpage.)

Not that it matters...but I see no reason that members should think that the link was incorrect when it was your obvious choice to disregard the primary focus of that particular webpage.

Well I suggest you work on your people skills Hamluis! Take your boxing gloves off. I'm telling you what I see even after trying again. No matter what link I click on I end up at PC Tools. Maybe because my computer is messing up, who knows. I want to thank eyesee and union thug very much for their help and patience. I deeply appreciate it.
I'll just restore it and start over since it's my laptop with not that much info in it. My desktop works just fine, so I'll use that till then. Thanks again, have a great evening.

That would probably be best as if the link I posted is redirecting you then you can rest assured that you are in fact infected. I test all links I provide.

Make sure to back your personal stuff up first if you need to.

@frustratedred, Nowhere, until page 2 of this thread you mentioned that you infected your laptop with trojans in the first place. The whole ball game changed at that point. It would have saved my time trying to help you with the simple issue of loss of IP.

Congratulations to Eyesee for suspecting malware in the first place on page 1. What made you suspect?

More importantly, please do not bash the moderators here like hamluis. This sentence is totally uncalled for:

Time to head over to the malware removal forum, get a good free antivirus and a firewall from legitimate sites and go on with life. Good luck.

I didn't know that there were Trojan's until I ran the site from the link. If he wasn't rude to me, I would not have had a comment.
