So a user was using his computer, and definitely has some infection.
I have used Malware Bytes, updated definitions, and it scans, removed a few items, still have issues.
Ran Symantect AntiVirus scan, but no luck.
All or majority of the files have been switched to hidden, no start menu files, desktop icons, no folders under Documents and Settings, etc. I have selected show hidden files and folders, and can see everything.
Google Chrome will not load at all, only Internet Explorer 8. Also, I here advertisements and random music play in the background...there's definitely something going on here. Right now RootRepeal is running in the background for a report...but I am sure I won't know what to do with it after that. I have also ran ATF Cleaner and CCleaner...
I looked in the processes on Task Manager, but nothign looked like it didn't belong. I ended a few, but the problem continuted.
This one is tricky, I have removed hundreds of Rouge AntiVirus software, but this one is stumping me.
Any suggestions?
Windows XP Professional, up to date
Core 2 Quad CPU
2.83GHz, 4GB RAM
Thanks

I run ESET online scanner if I think my AV may be compromised. You might want to give it a shot.

Hello,
Please follow the instructions in ==>This Guide<==. If you cannot complete a step, skip it and continue.
Once the proper logs are created, then make a NEW TOPIC and post it ==>HERE<== Please include a description of your computer issues and what you have done to resolve them.
If you can produce at least some of the logs, then please create the new topic and explain what happens when you try to create the log(s) that you couldn't get. If you cannot produce any of the logs, then still post the topic and explain that you followed the Prep. Guide, were unable to create the logs, and describe what happens when you try to create the logs.
