How can I share Sound/video with a friend?

Hi,

I have Vista OS. My friend has Windows 7. We are trying to figure out a way to watch a movie together. He seems to think my video card is going or is not adequate. I don't even know of a way for both of us to listen to the same audio file or a movie (say Netflix) or a DVD in my drive.

Do you have any ideas? If you need more information about my computer (or his) please let me know.
