I purchased a DVD-writer Samsung SH-S223 (SATA) to replace my old IDE DVD-Writer. Removed the old drive and installed the new one, the BIOS recognized it without problems, but the progress bar during Windows XP boot hangs and only proceeds if I manually open the DVD-tray, but this is only a workaround. Tried another SATA cable and another SATA port, without sucess. The problem is the writer or something in my windows? I have Windows XP SP3 and my motherboard is a Asus M2N-SLI, my two HDs are both SATA.
