BleepingComputer.com: DVD -RW or DVD +RW

I'm trying to burn some DVD's to play on a stand-alone DVD player. When look at my drive in "Computer" (Vista), it just says... "DVD RW Drive" After right-click and "properties" it just says..."HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA- T50N ATA Device" under hardware tab. No further info that I can see in "properties" for that item.

My question is: How do I know which blank media to buy? Is there such thing as a DVD -RW, or only DVD +RW?? The player I want to play it on supposedly will play either. Does it matter which I buy for this burner?

Please help!

There are 4 types of DVD disks:
DVD+R, DVD-R - can be written just once
DVD+RW, DVD-RW - can be written many times, more, or less like floppies.

You have to check your standalone DVD player manual to see what kind of DVD disks it'll read.
All newer DVD players should read any of those DVDs.
