Do you have automatic updates enabled to download (I select to d/load only and install when I select, this way you get notified without going to Updates)
If you have XP SP2 installed then many of these updates will not install or you will not be notified of them -
EDIT -
Can you check ADD / REMOVE and confirm that you have these updates listed, and the approx date -
KB2485376 (Feb 9) also KB2478971 (Feb 9 ) - My install dates -
This will confirm your latest updates were about early Feb - The other ones that you list were installed in early March by me -
Thank You -

A Google search for KB2481109 fails to install reveals lots of people had problems with this particular update, and revealed a few posiible workarounds/solutions.
Description of the security update for Remote Desktop client 6.1 and Remote Desktop client 6.0: March 8, 2011
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2481109
Quote
After you install this security update on a Windows XP-based computer, you may receive an error message that resembles the following:
:5.375: FileVersion of C:\WINDOWS\system32\mstscax.dll is Less Than 6.0.6001.0 for QFE branch
This problem only affects Windows XP based computers that were updated by using updates to address specific issues that are not delivered by Windows Update. For example, computers that have "Limited Distribution Release" (LDR) branch updates installed.
To work around this problem, use either of the following methods:
* Uninstall security update 956744 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/956744) , and then install security update 2481109.
* Alternatively, if you already have security update 956744 installed, you can install hotfix 967885 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/967885) . Then you can successful install security update 2481109.
There are several fixes discussed on this thread in the event that KB956744 is not listed in the Add/Remove section (with the box checked to Show all Updates at the top of the page)

"QFE branch" in this case means: Version 6.0.6001.22443 of mstscax.dll beeing present in the System32 folder of your Windows XP machine.

1. "Control Panel" -> "Add or Remove Programs" -> check the "Show Updates" box.
2. Uninstall update KB956744 (RDC6 fix 2009-8)
3. Reboot the computer.
4. Go to the Windows Update site and instal the KB2481109 update (for RDC6 version).
OR
1. Install hotfix KB969084 (RDC7 update 2009-10) NOTE! If necessary, change the language and click "Change".
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=72158b4e-b527-45e4-af24-d02938a95683
2. Reboot the computer.
3. Go to the Windows Update site and instal the KB2483614 update (for RDC7 version).
NOTE! There is no KB2481109 update (for RDC6 version) because you have RDC7 version installed.
I would go to Windows Update, select CUSTOM<---very important!!! then select to install Update for Windows XP (KB971029), Security Update for Windows XP (KB2479943), Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool - March 2011 (KB890830) and UNCHECK (do not install) Security Update for Windows XP (KB2481109) and Update for Microsoft Silverlight (KB2495644) which I believe is just a newer version of Silverlight and should be listed as Optional. If the Updates selected install correctly, then the problem is definitely with KB2481109.
The worst case scenario is the Updates fail again and we're back at square 1.
One question: Are you SURE you didn't receive any error messages besides The following updates were not installed?

Still doesn't work, I also tried installing each one of them individually. Once I click install updates, the windows update box pops up, then fails instantly.

Fixing this without knowing the error codes is an exercise in futility. Look in the following:
C:/Windows/Logs/KB(number)
C:/Windows/Windowsupdate.log
C:/Windows/Software Distribution/ Downloads
By your screenshot it appears (to me) that the DOWNLOAD itself is failing, not the installation.

In C:/Windows/Logs/, there was a log file called directx with no useful information
The contents of C:/Windows/Windowsupdate.log is here
The contents of C:/Windows/Software Distribution/ Downloads were just randomly named folders and files like c9941440f239ac07228e0aff5018f412
Also, I have downloaded and installed all of the updates from the download center. I still want to figure out why Windows Update won't download them though.

I'm assuming they installed correctly.
There's entries in your windowsupdate.log which lead me to believe that the problem may be due to the Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS), error number 0x80246008.

I don't know what this means: Extended error for reported error 80246008 = 80040154 I'm hoping someone smarter than me can explain it.

* BITS cannot successfully connect to the Web site.
If you receive an error message that includes the "0x8DDD0018" error code or the "0x80246008" error code, follow the steps in the "Verify that BITS is correctly configured" section to resolve this problem.
Verify that BITS is correctly configured. Then, try to start BITS. When you try to start BITS, you may receive one of several error messages. These error messages are listed in the "Troubleshooting steps" section. If you receive an error message when you try to start BITS, follow the steps in the section that corresponds to the error message that you receive.

Could be a problem with Windows HTTP proxy settings. From your windowsupdate.log:
