Another quick question that I have to ask.

In Device Manager, there is absolutely no Display Driver shown. Usually third down in the list without expanding any of the + symbols.

I am going to attach some pictures and screenshots IMAG0098.jpg is the video card i removed. IMAG0099.jpg is the ATI 2400Pro that is in the PC now. The image named DM.bmp is a screenshot of my Device Manager, and the ATIDRVR.bmp file is a shot of the extracted folders of the drivers I have downloaded and tried so far (not including the Dell drivers). Hope you can see them... i had to resize them quite a bit for them to fit.

Thanks again!

So originally this PC had a different card.

Did you go through add\remove to see if the previous software\drivers were uninstalled?

Yes...

Have you manually attempted to update the drivers?

Meaning, right click on the Video controller in Device Manager and manually pointing it to one of the particular folders shown in the third picture?

Well, things are getting real interesting now.
@ThunderZ- I installed the hotfix. During the installation, I got some error messages (attached). When I clicked "continue anyway", the installation appears to complete properly. When I do the required restart, all I get when I log back in is a black screen with the mouse pointer. The only way to get back in is to do a last known good config. I tried installing the hotfix's driver manually, and I get the same errors and same black screen.
@caperjac-Tried this when I was first working on this. Tried it again, just for giggles and grins. Still a no go.

Thanks for all your help folks!Attached File  untitled.jpg (21.98K)

After installing the hotfix, the "Video Controller (VGA compatible)" is now listed under "Display Adapters" (Third on the list). Seems like I'm getting closer....

Good lookin out!! I took a closer look at the card after your post, and found a small tag that read "VisionTek 2400Pro AGP 256MB". After visiting the VisionTek website as oppose to the ATI or AMD site, I was able to find the correct driver. (http://visiontek.com/downloads.html)

Thanks for your help everyone!!!!!

You would think it would be universal between AMD, ATI, Diamond, Visiontek, etc.... No such luck.

Thanks again!!
