Looks like to see what you wireless security settings are you need to go into expert mode in the router.

Here is a link to you r manual if you don't have it handy. http://www.netopia.com/support/hardware/manuals/SoftwareUserGuideV76-Clsc.pdf

OK I took the security off the router and the vista machine. I then ran the ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew and now it doesn't detect any wireless networks.

is the SSID on the router set to broadcast? If it is hidden or not broad casting then no networks will show up on th Vista machine.

Yes it is. The vista machine also used to find our neighbors network as well. Neither of those are on the vista machine right now.

Please run the following commands to reset your TCP/IP stack from the command prompt.

netsh int reset resetlog.txt

then do

netsh winsock reset

Once completed try doing an ipconfig /release the /renew run

baltboy,

I also have been having trouble connecting to the internet. I can connect on the desktop, so the connection is fine but I cannot connect with wirelessly or LAN with the laptop. I am running windows 7 on both. Also, Firefox will not open on the laptop. Internet Explorer opens on the laptop but does not connect. I ran the mini toolbox and here are the results. Thanks if you can possibly provide any assistance.

Got it going, it appears it was due to Norton security. Once I uninstalled and reinstalled Norton all was good.
