I have 2 XP computers that are virtually unusable because of various viruses. When I try to kill processes so I can run either Microsoft Security Essentials or Spybot, they simply regenerate themselves and my task manager says that the CPU is 100% utilized, which doesn't let me run anything else. The processes that I see are wics32.exe, .exe and vyre32.exe (although I'm sure there are other processes that I'm not aware of). When I look at what applications are running under task manager I see multiple iterations of - , (comma), 8 and Error, task manager and nothing else. Occaisionally, Security Essentials will pop up a message that the computer is unclean, I push the clean button and Security Essentials thinks all is well with the computer -- not true.
A tech friend suggested that I try combofix.exe as a last ditch effort before scrubbing everything and re-installing the operating system. I'm willing to give anything a try because these infections are systemic -- they exist even when I create new accounts. I would download the software, but your site suggests getting help from the experts before doing anything, so here I am.
I got an IBM tech support friend help with one computer -- he's not a security expert and ran out of time trying to find the source of vyre32.exe on a laptop that is experiencing the problems. I can run regedit and check some minimal things, but my tech background is unix-based (aix) and things in XP are managed differently.

Please follow the instructions in ==>This Guide<==. If you cannot complete a step, skip it and continue.
Once the proper logs are created, then make a NEW TOPIC and post it ==>HERE<== Please include a description of your computer issues and what you have done to resolve them.
If you can produce at least some of the logs, then please create the new topic and explain what happens when you try to create the log(s) that you couldn't get. If you cannot produce any of the logs, then still post the topic and explain that you followed the Prep.
