My mom said twins would have been easier than raising two that were 15 months apart. The older reverted when the younger was born. Word of advice: Don't teach them how to talk. Here's why (speaking from experience of course): Ages 1-2-crying and learning to say words that don't really exist. Yep, still cute! Called the babbling stage: even deaf babies do this. At this stage they make sounds that they will have great difficulty pronouncing later. My nephew tried so hard to talk at age 1 and couldn't, and he would get so mad and frustrated because he couldn't you could almost see the smoke coming out of his ears. QUOTE Ages2-4-crying and learning enough words to form a sentance you don't understand. "NO!" is a popular word at this age. "No" is most often learned from the parents: try re-direction instead. QUOTE Somewhere between 2 and 6 comes their first swear word. Yes, enjoy the moment. Only if they've heard them from someone else or on T.V., radio etc. My sib. didn't say a swear word until in 3rd grade or thereabouts. Picked it up from a classmate. QUOTE Ages 4-6-crying and mixing words and fake words like "Munch-a-kin from dunk-n-dozenuts". Argues that they're right, and that you say it wrong. Reversing consonants and consonant replacement is part of oral language development. Tongues etc. often cannot make the correct sounds yet. Frequently they will think they are pronouncing it correctly even if they are not: example I said Larquette Mall instead of Marquette Mall. I thought I was saying the latter. And I think its amazing how fast 10 months have went by. I mean it must have been that long almost since I have replied to this post.
Have fun with them. They must be wandering a lot at this age. |

Grinler, thanks so much for adding more pictures of Alex and Isaac - they are adorable and it's so nice to be able to see them as they grow and change!
Are they similar in personalities, I wonder? -------------------- Never let your computer realize you are in a hurry or just typing the last few words of a vital document.

No very different...Alec is very serious little baby with quite a temper. Dont get that food in his mouth fast enough and he throws little tantrums. Frustrating at times, but cute also. He loves though finding little things on the floor, carpet, furniture, etc and examine them. He is also much better at sports so far (can dunk hoops).
Isaac is a goofball. Happy go lucky, doesnt let anything bother him, unless he takes a spill, then he can let out a nice wail. Both good boys though. -------------------- Lawrence
