BleepingComputer.com: Browsing Problems.

As soon as i use a link on a website my computer decides it must check internet connectivity !!!!!!
It always finds no connectivity problems and yet does not allow me to connect to the linked item.
This has now started to happen to items in my 'Favourites' Bar and Tabs.
This is becoming so annoying that the next time I reboot the computer it may well be with the aid of a size eight
steel toe-cap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In the mean time any assistance would be appreciated.
