How do I remove the CD and DVD drives from an HP Desktop, HP716n? When screws are removed, the bodies slide approx 1 inch, then no further movement.

I take it you are trying to remove it by sliding out to the rear. It needs to be removed by sliding it out the front. The front bezel\cover needs to be removed from the tower.

There is normally a sticker with instructions describing how to do this on the inside bottom of the machine.

Superb, ThunderZ! Your advice was spot-on. There were no instructions on the case but, easily enough, there were three snap-in tongues on each side of the front bezel/cover and one push-in release on the top. With your great advice, the whole thing was a "snap", and completed in a couple of minutes.
Many thanks, and also for your prompt response. -- THK.
