Forum Rules

When posting your problem, do not run and post a ComboFix log. ComboFix is a tool that should only be run under the supervision of someone who has been trained in its use. Using it on your own can cause problems with your computer. Any posts containing CF Logs will be ignored.

To receive help, you should instead provide a detailed description of your problem, detailed word-for-word error messages that you are receiving, screenshots of strange behaviour, and your operating system. This information is much more useful to our helpers than a ComboFix log.

The problems started after I downloaded a torrent. When I use most websites, with Firefox, there is a full screen ad that covers the entire page, and I have to click "Skip this ad" to get out of it. The bottom info bar says "Ad served by Yourprofitclub" or hxxp://roicharger. Some words in websites are underlined in green. When I mouse over them, I see ads from roicharger.com.

When I use Google, there is often a blue bar at the top that says, "Did you mean to type in [something]?"

I've followed the steps for the forum post Firefox hijacked - roicharger.com / Yourprofitclub, but it's still hanging on. Not sure where to go from here, but I would appreciate any help.

Thanks

I have the same problem.

I have, without success, tried:

System Restore
Avast! Full scan
Spybot Search & Destroy Full Scan
Malwarebytes Full Scan
Both ATF and SAS according to the instructions in http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic379702.html
Eset Online Scanner
Microsoft Defender
Microsoft Security Essentials or wtf that one was called

None of these had any effect. Some did they usual "23489723647823 issues detected" and then deleted some harmless cookies, but none can pick up on this roicharger/yourprofitclub crack. They all report clean/0 issues now.

I run Windows 7 Professional 64 bit with all current updates from Microsoft.

Help, please ?

Looks like you both need to create a new a separate post.

We need a deeper look. Please go here....
Preparation Guide ,do steps 6 - 9.

Create a DDS log and post it in the new topic explained in step 9,which is here Virus, Trojan, Spyware, and Malware Removal Logs and not in this topic, thanks.
If Gmer won't run, skip it and move on.
Let me know if that went well.

@ sarahgfs

Malware topic here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic380571.html

Now that your log is properly posted, you should NOT make further changes to your computer (install/uninstall programs, use special fix tools, delete files, edit the registry, etc) unless advised by a Malware Removal Team member, nor should you continue to ask for help elsewhere. Doing so can result in system changes which may not show it the log you already posted. Further, any modifications you make on your own may cause confusion for the helper assisting you and could complicate the malware removal process which would extend the time it takes to clean your computer.

From this point on the Malware Removal Team should be the only members that you take advice from, until they have verified your log as clean.

Please be patient. It may take a while to get a response because the Malware Removal Team members are very busy working logs posted before yours. They are volunteers who will help you out as soon as possible. Once you have made your post and are waiting, please DO NOT make another reply until it has been responded to by a member of the Malware Removal Team. Generally the staff checks the forum for postings that have 0 replies as this makes it easier for them to identify those who have not been helped. If you post another response there will be 1 reply. A team member, looking for a new log to work may assume another MR Team member is already assisting you and not open the thread to respond.

To avoid confusion, I am closing this topic.

@ AccIn,

It is not a good idea to post your problems in someone else's topic as this causes massive confusion for all concerned. I have split out your posts from another topic and you can find them here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic381010.html

I'm going to reply to that topic and repeat the instructions boopme provided for you in this topic.
