Is it just me, or has BleepingComputer been a little slow lately? As in, the website loading and such. Sometimes webpages load normally, but sometimes they just hang.

Seems to be OK now, but it was having serious delays couple of hours ago. Up to 30 sec to load a page.

Seem`s around 11:00 EST for me every night. Will have sever page loading slow downs.

Seem`s I read where automatic server maintenance is run at a certian time once a day. Might be the reason, unsure of the schedule.

You're not imagining things, it appears this happens during various parts of the day, where it actually takes several minutes for the green progress bar of my Internet Explorer 8 to move, sometimes it just sits still for several seconds.

I notice this even more when I am sending a reply to the BC server.

Edit: Just like it just did with this reply, in fact, while editing this in the first time, the thread reset back to the thread before my editor had opened, this happens a lot to where I have to click EDIT twice.

Bruce.

Please take notice. Oreo and I will not be available until June of 2012.
Thank you for understanding my absence, it is job and college related, so all is good. If I do not answer your PMs this is the reason why. See you all soon!

Bruce.

I have noticed lag at various times of the day sometimes myself.

I blamed it on the full moon.
In the beginning there was the command line.

I'm probably the most curious one on this board, always asking questions, so here's a few more for you LOL. What kind of server hosts this lovely site? Is it a beautiful Dell PowerEdge model? What OS is used to host the site? Is it PHP on IIS like my British contact uses?

Bleeping Computer runs on the very latest Gerbil® brand hardware with redundant failover Hamsters and a backup ferret named Toby. On the software side, we run OS/2 Warp as the OS supporting a virtual cluster of MOSAIC HTTP server instances all connecting to a central repository of text files (one for each topic.)
