BleepingComputer.com: Exe problems In Vista

I'm having a similar problem on my girlfriend's laptop. I have no idea what she did to it, but it will not open any .EXE files. I tried a few fixes I found on the net, but they did not work. The first one is a program called reimage. It downloaded, opened, and started to analyze then nothing else. The other thing thing i found to try was some lines of commands that i was instructed to copy and paste in notepad, the to save as a .REG file. I don't know how to save it as a .REG file. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
