Hello hello.

So an update is in order and Im close to crying and biting my pillow :C,,,

I had found the problem to be one of the memory sticks and had been in contact with OCUK. Memory returned (because it was a bundle all 3 had to be sent back) and waited a month for a replacement. Complaints have been sent, but thats another story.

New Corsair ram recieved today (Corsair XMS3 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Triple Channel)and... 2 more blue screens. I initially put each stick in alone and all started windows fine. All 3 are in and windows starts fine. I was in the middle of changing the drive letters of my WD 600GB SATA3 HDD when a Bluescreen popped up. !F**K!...

sorry

So started up with windows disk, format and reinstall both drives (the 64GB SSD and the 600GB HDD)
Installed win7 64bit fine on the SSD

Installed the initial drivers that come on my disk for the X58A-GD65 and after that I downloaded opera to avoid the bane of life that is IE8. BSOD number 2. I went in and manually set the timings to 9-9-9-24 on all three sticks as it auto sets to 8-8-8-19.

Restart, ask windows to check memory, passes twice, all good so far.

I know with new memory in there can be probs but Im unsure where to start and am mentally unstable so unable to think clearly. Only thoughts are phone OCUK and ask for all my damn money back and give them this metal heap back.

So I humbly ask for your help once again. Thanks

A lil bit of extra info. I have taken the HDD out and 30 mins of no BSOD so far. DLing windows updates. Downloaded the Western digital HDD diagnostic tool that instantly showed the SMART status failure last time and when the updates are done I will check this again. The BSOD occured when I was doing stuff related to the HDD, I feel a surge in the force telling me that the HDD is to blame. I also have a bad feeling that I am swaying close to the dark side, my force lightning (my head) is close to zapping the wall repetedly. I also have an urge to pop small childrens baloons and steal their lollys. I am not gonna make any drastic decisions right now as I know there are a fair few diagnostics to run and also... the BSOD hinted at least 3 of the times to the MV91xx drivers. So pointing towards the HDD as I think that hese drivers only relate to SATA HDD's or SSD's. Anyway, still in process of a few tests and I think I will have to install steam and portal 2 to test my SSD's abilitys (because I have been waiting to play this and as I mentioned, no computer for the last month, so apologies if this messes with any diagnostics you want me to run)

More info. Computer was fine until I went for dinner, came back and woke it up. Logged in then got BSOD with the MV91xx driver problem again. I have searched and seen info that the Crucial C300 SSD has problems with SATA 3 and that I will notice no speed difference in SATA 2. Turning off computer to put it in SATA2 now. Will also run SMART check on the WD HDD and see what that says.

Run hard drive diagnostics: http://www.tacktech.com/display.cfm?ttid=287 (or http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=28744&hl=hard+drive+diagnostic)
Make sure, you select tool, which is appropriate for the brand of your hard drive.
Depending on the program, it'll create bootable floppy, or bootable CD.
If downloaded file is of .iso type, use ImgBurn: http://www.imgburn.com/ to burn .iso file to a CD (select "Write image file to disc" option), to make the CD bootable.
For Toshiba hard drives, see here: http://sdd.toshiba.com/main.aspx?Path=ServicesSupport/FujitsuDrivesUSandCanada/SoftwareUtilities#diagnostic

Note : If you do not know how to set your computer to boot from CD follow the steps HERE

Well so far computer has been running SATA2 on both drives all night, played portal 2 from SSD till 4:30am and left Prime95 running after I went to bed (im up again and very tired, gonna get son to school then back to bed for me!) so SSD stability is good so far, memory is holding. What i need to do also is transfer steam to my HDD (which I am not using as primary and with 600GB of space, it will be my normal drive of use with the SSD reserved for super important things like cubase, not games). Also Both drives passed the WD diagnostic SMART status.

I will run the Disk diagnostic tool you advised when I wake up again. Would it be wise to also plug my drives back into sata3 ports to test with the diagnostic tool you suggest or would this be a fruitless exercise and should I forget I even have SATA3 until Marvel release some stable drivers (well, until MSI release marvels drivers for them)

I'd test all drives, but one at a time.

All is good now.

Final verdict :

Faulty memory stick in the first instance, solved by running each stick by itself, second stick was broken

Sata 3 Marvel drivers were causing BSOD, none since I put my SSD in the SATA2 port :)

Computer is in working order.

Thanks for the patience and support
