I went to the link about the Ultimatebootcd but it was very confusing and I thought I downloaded it and burn it onto the cd but when I tried to start the computer and did what you said .....NOTHING same screen it went back to the black screen with the words o bootable device--insert boot disk and press any key. Which makes me think that I did not download the file. :( What should I do??? this is soooooo frustrating. Your very nice and very helpful and I appreciate everything you are suggesting. thanks

Well First off thank you I will try that. Secondly what does this mean ... I installed a new hard drive and then the screen said the exact same thing.
totally black with the words....0 bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key

Does this mean that the original hard drive might have beeen okay and now I need a new mother board? Because obviously the hard drive is okay its new so maybe the old one was okay.

What do you think?
