My computer is old. It's basically a business computer from 2003.

My current specs are on my profile already, except for my PSU. That's a 700/750w PSU that I forgot the brand of.

I'm limited to DDR RAM, PCI bus video-card upgrades, and a 478B CPU Socket. Is there anything I can do to bring it up to a little better speed, for not too much money?

What do you plan to use it for? Also can give the IBM model?

As much as I possibly can until I can't play any games on it anymore (Which will be very soon...)

And no, I can't...I tried once in 2009, because I had never known it before...And I forgot it, and how to find it.

All I can remember is P51...Or something similar.

And, I tried this "Tell me my model number" thing on IBM's site....It can't even find it.

I would say get a new PC, or do an overhaul with replacing the guts of the PC. There just isn't much you can do with parts that old and have a meaningful upgrade.

You could get 2 of these which will improve the performance.

Adding additional RAM may be a good idea, but you are still very much limited by the CPU.

I'm sure an old P4 will work fine, but it is slow. I have an old P4 Vaio notebook with 2GB of RAM and it is slow... it's also quite hot too.

I'm running Windows 7 on a P4 with also 2GB of ram. The P4 does run hot, my one goes up to 62C loaded although i replaced the cpu fan with a 3068rpm fan.
