Before I begin, i apologize for my lack of knowledge on whatever is trying to eat my computer. A while back I got a popup that looked like a window's security warning that gave me a list of viruses/trojans that were one my computer. I went through the list, and saved all the locations because whatever had popped up exited everything in my computer and I couldn't do anything. When I restarted my computer in safemode my computer was back to normal. Afterwards I scanned instantly and it told me i had no viruses/trojans. So, I went to all the locations I saved and tried to delete the folders I had found, but it told me only the creator-owner could delete it and it said it needed an administrator to delete it, even though I am the administrator. After a frustrating night I gave up, this was in December. My computer acted fine, it wasn't slow, the only problem was both my McAfee and Spybot Search & Destroy couldn't find any viruses. Ever. Then, McAfee told me my computer was unprotected and now when I open it the screen isn't big enough for me to scan, or press the 'fix' button. I can't maximize or change the size of the window.
The files I can remember in the list I found was a folder named MUI, System32, and a temp folder in McAfee. Does anyone have any idea what is going on with my computer? Or should I just restore it back to factory settings?
