@ RadioNorthsea. Driverscollection.com has been around for quite sometime.

Of course there is no 100% guarantee that it, or anything else d\l`d from anywhere on the Internet is safe.
That site has proven over time for me and many others to be about as safe as any when seeking old, outdated, no longer supported drivers, BIOS, etc.

ThunderZ,

I understand your point, but I am a safety man.

When I had that problem, than I don't take the risk.
Or I say to myself and sometimes have I that period: Know you what, I do it and see what will be happen, have I luck, than hurray, is it else, pity, than have I bad luck and buy a new one, in that case have I usually too much money.
But I do know that, that stuff is expansive and when the computer works correct, than I let it for what it is, I am not happy when my machine works correct and I get an update for the Bios and update the Bios and after this, I have a problem and I see that it is not possible for clear the cmos.
My thinking in this all is than too: Why should you take the risk that what I did tell can be true and you get troubles after this.
Sorry guys that I telling this, but we are here on a forum for helping together and giving advice is also help.

There was nothing wrong with your advice or the intent with which it was given.

In this case the User deemed it an acceptable risk in an effort to update his current machine and give it further functionality., I would have done the same. While your advice and caution was very valid, I chose to inject what I did to alleviate any concerns your reply may have given the OP or anyone else who may read this discussion and have need of the provided link in the future.

We all know and agree of the inherent dangers of the Internet as well as anything we d\l from it. Every day a legit site is compromised. There are literally thousands of legitimate sites currently compromised as I write this. They spread who knows what for who knows what reason to hunderd`s (thousands) of Internet users every day. Over the years several Anti-virus sites have been cracked. MS it self was knocked off line by a DoSA several years ago.

Was only a few months ago I visited a long trusted site that offers free normally paid for software on a one daily basis as a form of advertisement for the software writers program(s). It had been compromised.
Fortunately my security was up to the task and caught the exploit before it was able to secretly d\l it`s package and do it`s evil deed.
Being on the Internet is fraught with the potential of infection. It is something we have chosen to live with and deal with the best we know how every time we turn on our machine and connect.

But I fear we are venturing way off topic here.

@thunderz +1

@ radio... I thank you for your concern and warnings. I found more than a few posts about dead mobos, while I was trying to track down the BIOS update. I came to the conclusion that the risk was worth the reward.

Zsazso,

Yes, I did that too, few years ago.
So when I see posts just like this, than can I only to do, just what I did tell.
Bye the way: I am glad that you follow my advice.
Sometimes think I also that I can do some things, but when I let working my brain on full power, than say I to myself, :nono: first I looking for information via Internet via search machines and when I don't get the right information than I asking people on forums, what they thinking.
When I see a lot of people with positive opinions, than I do what I would to do.
