Trying to disable H.P. Digital Imaging and Groove Monitor from the System Config.Utility, start up menu option. I uncheck them, Click apply, and a window appears. (An access Denied error was returned while attempting to change a service. You may need to log on using an Administrator account to make the specified changes.) How do I log on as an administrator? My system is an H.P. Window xp version 2002 service pack 3.

1) If you are making a permanent change to startup items do not use msconfig. Use a 3rd party app designed for the purpose. One such very app is Mike Lin's Startup Control Panel (http://www.mlin.net/StartupCPL.shtml). There are other, more comprehensive apps - but this one is simple and straightforward.

2) To answer your question, please read this: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/setup/tips/advanced/adminaccount.mspx
