I am trying to free up space on the hard drive.
I find M'soft.NET Framework 1.2, 2.0 SP2, 3.0, and 3.5SP1.
Can I remove the earlier versions?
Many thanks,
Martin

Not necessarily. Different apps require different versions of .NET Framework. Leave it unless you're having a specific problem.

New versions of .NET Framework do not supersede older versions.

There is no 1.2 version, so I think you have 1.1, which comes preinstalled on media center PCs, among others.
The entries for 2.0, 3.0, and 3.5...should all be part of the 3.5, SP1 package. They cannot be removed individually.
