When posting your problem, do not run and post a ComboFix log. ComboFix is a tool that should only be run under the supervision of someone who has been trained in its use. Using it on your own can cause problems with your computer. Any posts containing CF Logs will be ignored.

To receive help, you should instead provide a detailed description of your problem, detailed word-for-word error messages that you are receiving, screenshots of strange behaviour, and your operating system. This information is much more useful to our helpers than a ComboFix log.

Hi.

A couple of days ago I got infected with what seemed to be the Security Tool malware. It blocked all internet and other programs and gave me all the annoying popups you'd expect.

I have Malwarebytes already installed, so I ran rkill and then Malwarebytes in safe mode and thought I cleaned it. But I then ran Spybot and it found Vurtomonde. Malwarebytes didn't find it. I have since run both Malwarebytes and Spybot in safe mode and they tell me I'm clean, but I'm still having problems.

Here's why:

1. I bought the Malwaebytes upgrade and it's telling me it's blocking outgoing attempts to questionable websites
2. I am periodically unable to connect to the internet. Right now I'm using Firefox off a USB drive, which seems to be the only way I can get a wireless connection.
3. My computer is running slowly, and is crashing unexpectedly. It will also hang up, so that it takes several minutes to shut down or load a program.

Ideas? Help? I'm running Windows XP.

As you have an open topic here http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic376841.html I am closing this one to avoid confusion.
