Hello, my brother's computer started showing errors on startup not long ago. It runs Windows Vista Home Premium and it's a Dell Inspiron 530. It started showing "Keyboard Failure" but now it's showing "CMOS Checksum Error Defaults Loaded" and "Diskette Drive 0 Seek Failure" and at the bottom "Press F1 to Continue F2 to Enter Setup" but I can't press F1 or F2 because for some reason the keyboard is not working on the computer. Please help us c: Thank you. :D

Let's start by replacing the cmos battery (on your motherboard) and see if that helps. It's the simplest first step.

It may or may not be the answer (the errors you report can be caused by a dead cmos battery). But again, it's the simplest first step. If it doesn't fix the problem we can start digging deeper.

If replacing the battery doesnt work I would try using a spare keyboard if you have one lying around...Just to test

Sorry about answering so late, I forgot about this
It didn't work, and yes. I've tried connecting a different keyboard, it didn't work either :\
