I was going to get an XFX Radeon video card. But I may go with EVGA/Nvidia instead. My motherboard is Crossfire ready, but it is not equipped for SLI.
I am a light gamer at best. Just some flight simulator software. Will an Nvidia video card (with SLI) still work on my non-SLI motherboard? It is unlikely that I will ever bridge a multiple video card configuration. I will just have single card setup.

I'm leaning towards EVGA/Nvidia now because their models have more 5 star ratings. While Radeon may have the best performance, EVGA/Nvidia may have more of a trouble free setup. I have heard some speak very highly of Radeon, while mentioning driver issues.

Thanks,
Dave

To run 2, or more cards in SLI, you will need a SLI capable motherboard (nVidea chipset)
To run 2, or more cards in X-fire, you will need a X-fire capable motherboard (ATI chipset)

A single card (nVidea, or ATI) can be run on either board.
SLI, or X-fire, only comes into play when you are using more than 1 card.
