Adding a User to a Group in Exchange

I'm having a little difficulty trying to add a users email to a distribution group in exchange. I have tried adding the user by right clicking on the users name, going to "Add To A Group" then typing in the name of the Distribution group. The name of the group is called "Merchandising". When I goto the properties in the Default Global Address List in System Manager, I see all the other users except for the one that I'm trying to add. Could someone please provide any thoughts or assistance with this. Thank.
