I have a NETGEAR WNDR3700 as my router and a Cisco DOQ3212 as my modem. Recently, I have been noticing that I am signing in and out of AIM, disconnecting from IRC (every 10-15 mins), and a lot of my messages are not being sent via MSN nor am I able to receive random and spiratic messages on MSN as well.

I don't understand why this is happening and it's really starting to get annoying! Please help.

Also on my router logs, I am getting a ton of [DoS Attack: ACK Scan] from random IP addresses (one belongs to America Online, and another from some corporate IP AKAMAI TECHNOLOGIES)

I wonder if you might have a bug of some sort.

If you dont have it already, I would download update and run MalwareBytes AntiMalware. Run the full scan. It could take a while so go kill some time when it is scanning.
See if it finds any problems and fixes them.

Just a thought
In the beginning there was the command line.

I have AVG and I thought perhaps the Firewall was an issue, but it wasn't. I also have ran it and there wasn't any issue. I recently just set QoS rules for AIM/MSN and my laptop. I'm hoping that will help.

AVG scans for viruses. Try MalwareBytes its the tool of choice at BC

Still having the issues ever since setting QoS, but not as often. Running Malwarebytes now.
