Hello!!

Has anyone had problems lately getting daily updates? Mine starts but then never completes and shows unsuccessful. I have had the problem since moving to SP2 a several months ago. Sometimes it just works while most of the time not. I think I had to manually update from the website one time. I made sure that the 3 programs for AVG were listed as OK in my XP firewall...it is the only one I use. Any ideas?

Thanks,

diego88

Is your system fully patched? Have you ever used another Anti-virus apart from AVG? Maybe you need to try a clean install of AVG. Here is a tutorial that might help. Thanks.

i had simular problems, what i did was...

1. Open up your hosts file in notepad.(or START-RUN-type or copy and paste C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC )

2. Add the following line

193.86.103.19 guru.grisoft.com

This tells your computer to connect to www.grisoft.com (which does work) and not guru.grisoft.com to perform updates.

Thanks 10rand. It is fully patched and no never used another anti-virus. Don't think I need a clean install, but, if all else may try. It did finally update over the weekend.

Thank you jaybeast69. I may try this little trick!!
