I backed up my data and reset to factory defaults and now I have a nice fast computer with nothing on it, which is very nice . I'm gradually putting my stuff back on.

congrats i'm glad you saved all your data....just goes to show ya, can't have to many backups.. you were lucky this time my friend...the best offense is a defense if ya know what i mean....BE PREPARED (and yes i was/am a boyscout(always)) way ta go.....
