I just installed Service Pack 2 for Vista Business. I clicked 'restart' when prompted, and since then the computer's been stuck on a black screen with the following message:

!! 9xc0190002 !! 186/61140 ($$microsoft.net_framework_v3.0_windows_co...)

Thanks Kenny, but that support is valid only until 30th August 2010.

hey mark,

sorry about that, they should lose the link if theres no support!!
just googled your error and come up with another bleepingmark over @ major geeks lol, appears you are the only one in the history of vista to ever have that error message...will look deeper when i have more time..

is your vista 32 or 64 bit?
please give system specs and as much info as possible as others wil be looking in (hopefully)

good luck

Hi Kenny

It's Vista 32 bit Business edition.
I don't know any other system specs since I can't boot up into Windows to read it. I know I've got 3GB RAM.

I started running system repair again from the F8 key at about lunchtime - that's about 6 hours ago - and the system repair is still running. Is that normal? When I click 'cancel' a message says 'this repair cannot be cancelled'.

Hi Kenny,

System repair was running all night and I've left it running all day today while I'm at work - but I very much doubt whether it's going to do anything useful, so I'll try your suggestion of safe mode with networking when I get home.

I tried booting to safe mode and safe mode with networking and it gets stuck loading the drivers at Windows\System32\DRIVERS\AVGIDSEH.Sys

I've taken the drive out and put it in an external USB case and I'm copying my files now.
There is a recovery partition, which I'll try loading after I've backed up my files...
but I'm beginning to think it might be time to upgrade to Windows 7! Or get a new PC.
I don't like to be beaten by this bug though! lol

It's a desktop, Dell Dimension E520.

well i certainly wouldn't try and load win7 on that hdd, if it has a recovery partition, reload vista, see how that goes, run the hhd test from the mfg co..
vista may be fine, was maybe a glitch with sp2 ...
