Remote control problems on PC

Hi,
Just bought a "Tranquil" media centre with an Intel Desktop Board DH57JG and a Intel Core i3 processor.Everything works brialliantly except for one problem, i can't put the PC into standby or re-wake it using the MCE remote like i used to be able to do on my previous PC. The OS i'm using is Windows 7 64 bit.
Any help would be really appreciated.
