trouble with my internet

ok well my mom has a laptop with wifi. i am using a normal computer with wifi. for some reason as soon as i start using my computer her internet randomly stops working. why would this be? my dad has the router and he uses a cable and he and my mom can be on it and it doesnt do anything but when my computer is on it randomly messes it up. why is that?
