Hi. I have an older HP Pavilion laptop model zt3000. After a recent reformat the laptop screen will not light up. I have had this problem before, and it was always fixed by a simple "static discharge" procedure by disconnecting all connections and holding down the power button for a minute or two. This time that doesn't work.
The hard drive is tested and good. Also, the screen itself is good, since it flashes briefly when I do a hard boot.
I still believe this is likely a static charge problem, or something similar to that. Does anyone out there have an idea how to fix this inexpensively? For instance, is that a way to remove the motherboard and take it to a shop for a simple repair?
Appreciate your input. I've always gotten great answers from this board.
Thanks!
