I need a Free Anti-Virus with real time protection. I am currently using Avira, but as you can see in the screenshot below, there is no ignore option.

To get to the ignore option, I need to press details, and by the time I tell Avira to ignore my file, it's already corrupted. Are there any other free Anti-Viruses with Real Time Protection (and an ignore button)?

If you want to ignore, why protect it anyway. If you want a serious virus protection, buy a fully working copy.

Avira is good among the freely available versions. You need to check whether there is an exclude option somewhere.

Because sometimes it picks up legitimate files as malware, especially if that file comes from a small/unknown place.
You don't need to buy an anti-virus, as there are a ton of free alternatives which work just as well.

By the way, I use Avast!

If you check the AVComparatives, the detection rate of Avira is very good. But their FREE product is irritating because it blocks user-action each and every time. You can check ClamAV. It an open-source AV and soon becoming very good because of community support.

I was wondering which user-action,other than autorun which is a great thing to have.

And there are changes in WIN7

I didn't get what you replied. But I was referring to the on-access and firewall protection.

Even if we leave that, Anti-Virus industry needs continuation innovation and a lot of investment is needed for research and analysis. If any company is only providing free AV, it means they don't have any research lab and depends on third-party detection engines.
