Hello, I'm new to these forums as a member (I've used your help via other people's topics)!

I recently installed a new Monitor, a NEC LCD1912, and now my sound isn't working, system or other generated sounds.

My sound is: "Realtek HD audio rear output"

I have:
-Not had problems with this device before installing the monitor.
-Updated my sound driver, in various ways to ensure it is properly updated and "signed" for quality.
-Checked all cables, they are plugged in correctly.
-Attempted to generate sounds both in and out of different games.
-Updated Monitor drivers
-Restarted several times, after each driver update.

I am in the process of rolling back and reinstalling the latest driver now.

I have not experienced an error of this kind before, so I assumed it had to do with drivers because of new hardware. I am a computer literate individual and can probably follow any advice given, but I am honestly baffled at this issue, nothing seems to be working.

Please help how you can, thanks in advance.

Please give the guys your system specs and OS, the most plausible explanation is a driver conflict. Do you have on board sound? If so use the disk that came with your MB board? Many times just a quick reinstall of the boards drivers fixes things like this.
