I live in a house with two other roommates. About a month ago, one of the roommates neglected to pay our internet bill and services were disconnected. We have a cable internet connection with a linksys wireless network. Up until that point I had a good fast connection. Once service was restored my connection became very slow. I changed nothing on my settings with the router and have gone back several times to confirm that settings are correct but yet my pc still takes forever to connect while the other two roommates (laptops) dont have the same issue. I've tried everything i can think of and followed numerous instructions to get it back to where it was but to no avail! if you can help....PLEASE DO! Thank u!

Unplug power to both. Use an ink pin to push and hold the reset button on the router for about 30 seconds.
Power up the cable modem and let it fully initialize then do the same with the router.
I have a Linksys router and have to reset it every once in a while when it drops connection or gets slow.

That's not what you were supposed to click
I suggest that you edit your post and delete that log, since it's useless.

Yes, I've thought of and done that previously but just to humor myself went ahead and did it again....no effect! But thanks for the input! Any other ideas you might have are certainly appreciated! Thanks

I've tried a ba-zillion times and each time the browser/connection times out before I can get there. Works fine on the laptop but again, no joy on the desktop. I'll keep trying though until I get it!

Ok Broni,
finally get to the page exactly like the screen shot u sent with the Start Now button, except no map and no Begin Test Button. instead, in that area i get MISSING LICENSE KEY- the license for this Speed Test is missing. Please contact the webmaster of this site to let them know. Again, when I do it on the laptop, which I'm writing from now, it works fine, but obviously that doesnt help me if i need to run the test on the desktop. Any Ideas???

Did you try different browser?
Also....
1. Click Start>Run (Start>"Start search" in Vista).
2. Type in (or copy and paste):
cmd /c ping google.com>%temp%\$.$¬epad %temp%\$.$
and press Enter.
3. Notepad will open.
4. Copy all text in Notepad ([Ctrl-A], then [Ctrl-C]), and then post it (paste = [Ctrl-V]) in your next reply.

I finally got the link to work and results are complete. Dont know how to do a screenshot like you did to show the results. Pasted screenshot to word but too large to attach so maybe u can tell me what you need from that.. and also did the cmd function and will post the notepad text at the bottom. Again,....so many thanks to you for stickin in there with me. Also: using Firefox 3.6.13 and IE 6.0 which I never upgrade because I just dont use IE.
