I've been given my Grandmother's Dell Inspiron 8200 (Win XP) because it has been having some performance issues

There were 2 issue with it.

1. #M1004 error at boot

2. Very slow performance

I have since fixed the #M1004 error by updating to the latest BIOS version

But the performance issue still exists, and makes using the entire computer nearly impossible

What is does from boot is run normally for 1-1.5 sec then freeze for 3-5. Repeating this process

I know this is not a Windows issue because I have reformatted the HDD and reinstalled windows. And also because the issue also happen when changing the BIOS settings or Reinstalling window.

Im not really sure what to check next now

So like I said:
  • Dell Inspiron 8200 with 348MB of RAM
  • Issue occurs before, during and after re-installation of windows XP
  • Issue also is prevalent before windows begins to load
  • Bios has been updated to latest version

I understand by today's standards it is a paperweight, but all she would like to do is play solitaire and other basic things.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

As much as I would like to provide that info for you.

It would probably take me 2hours + to download, unzip, run, then post the log.

I can only move the mouse a quarter way across the screen before the computer freezes again.

I know it might not be much help, but I do have this

Use of speccy doesnt require any zipping of any logs. It requires installing it, and then publishing a public snapshot.

The reason I want to see the speccy is to get a true feel of your computer.
