When posting your problem, do not run and post a ComboFix log. ComboFix is a tool that should only be run under the supervision of someone who has been trained in its use. Using it on your own can cause problems with your computer. Any posts containing CF Logs will be ignored.

To receive help, you should instead provide a detailed description of your problem, detailed word-for-word error messages that you are receiving, screenshots of strange behaviour, and your operating system. This information is much more useful to our helpers than a ComboFix log.

Redirect Searches

Running on Windows XP home edition.

The computer has been sluggish and grinding.

Google searches on firefox were redirecting to random sites.

Ran malwarebytes but it behaved oddly and indicated it had updated, but didn't appear to be an update process consistent with ones I remember.

Malware bytes scan stalled.

Ran Avira and it indicated Tr/Drop Tdss.MA but seems to have failed to delete it ( may have completed the delete task once I started in Safe mode)

TDSS Killer showed rootkit win32 backboot.gen but options on this suspicious file were to skip, restore or one other option I can't recall.

Am also receiving generic host 32 error "need to close"

Thoughts?
