Eric,

I have had recent problems as well with Norton's update--I finally gave up and switched to Grisoft--AVG personal-free. It seems to do a better job--catching more stuff than Norton and so far very good.

I miss those two boys a bunch-they have been replaced by reality TV I guess--the last thing they said as they were getting kicked off of the TV---"DAMITT,DAMITT,DAMITT!

Hi, Eric

"that link does not work, instead of that little hand there is a vertical line if that makes any sense"

That makes sense... the link isn't hypertext, it's just text. It should link, but it doesn't. I use AVG with a great bit of success, and have for a long time. I've used Norton and i'll admit the only thing I like about it these days is the winDoctor feature I use off a CD so I don't have to have all the symantec stuff on disk. IMO, the company also has a great product in the Ghost, but I can't see paying for anti-virus and disk cleaning software when excellent alternatives exist free. smile.gif Stick with AVG, and look around the site threads for info (like at the final clean log in a hijackThis log analysis) that will keep you operating well.
