I'm trying to connect my laptop and new desktop to the Internet by going through a router. The laptop can see the Internet without the router, but as soon as I try to go through the router it won't work.

I went cable modem to laptop - connection works fine.
I went cable modem to new desktop - connection doesn't work.

HELP!!

On the new desktop, went through ipconfig, displaydns, and it does not show anything. Also did ipconifg/all and only shows "Windows IP Configuration."

When I go to Network Connections via Control Panel, it shows (2) 1394 Connections, and my Roadrunner. The Road runner is not configured properly, but I know that the ethernet connection is the only one that I have.

Fixed. WOuld you believe it was as easy as loading the Ethernet drivers from the CD that came with the MOBO? Once I did that the connection worked fine. I haven't gone through the router thing yet so hopefully that goes well now also.

I am glad that you got it working. I know that we had worked on getting in online for a while.
We are all curious like a cat. We wonder, we ask, we learn.
Please post back when a suggestion works, so that others may learn.
