Ok here we go, yesterday upon turning on my computer, within 20-30 minutes I would get a strange BSOD with only one line;
"Stop: c00007d7 Unknown Hard Error"
This could also have different 3 digit numbers at the end such as c0000619 or c0000aaa, it was different every time.
I created a thread at the pchelpforum.com and it was suggested to run CHKDSK in its full version, the one that starts upon rebooting the computer. I did this and it took a full 12+ hours to complete.
This fixed the bluescreens which I do not get anymore *fingers crossed*
BUT now every 10-30 minutes in to doing things from the desktop different things will become unresponsive/ not work at all;
All of the Shortcuts will stop working, will not open no matter how many times you click them/ select running as admin, ect.
The only one that opens is My Computer but this becomes unresponsive a few seconds into being opened.
The Taskbar will stop working, the only way to navigate through opened programs is to Alt-Tab. So no Start- run ect
Ctrl-Alt-Del does not work/ open up.
The only way to overcome these issues is by a reboot but that only last for around 30mins.
Other things- Occasionally my XP style windows, buttons, and taskbar will change to the Windows Classic style and quickly back to XP.
Shortly after startup I get a box with an error which reads;
"Generic Host Process for win32 services encountered a problem and needs to close."
So far as well I have tried the fixes offered by a Doug Knox called the Windows XP File Association fixes located here- http://www.dougknox.com/xp/file_assoc.htm but so far the 2 I have done (LNK File Association Fix, Folder Association Fix) have not seemed to change anything.
I strongly do not thing I have a virus, I ran several virus scans yesterday,nothing showed up, someone suggested that I right click my main drive and do a scan from there directly which I am now.
I would appreciate any help that can be offered with this annoying problem. Thank you
